The American Indian College Fund is proud of the relationships it has developed with its foundation partners. Through their innovative support, the Fund is able to expand the level and type of assistance it can provide to the tribal colleges and beyond.
The following activities are being undertaken by the Fund and their foundation partners:
Lumina Foundation for Education - Angel Fund Program
The American Indian College Fund and the Lumina Foundation for Education have teamed up to ensure academic success for students at tribal colleges. Through this joint initiative, the Angel Fund program was created to help tribal college students reach their academic goals by providing students with emergency financial assistance.
Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Faculty Career Enhancement Program
Supporting Terminal Degree Attainment for Tribal College Faculty
The American Indian College Fund and the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation have partnered to establish the Mellon Faculty Career Enhancement Program, where tribal college faculty will be given significant financial support needed to complete their terminal degree programs. Tribal colleges will not only markedly improve the academic credentials of their staff, but also take high profile measures to increase the loyalty of faculty--and with it, the likelihood of retaining faculty members.
Allstate Foundation
Cultural Diversity & Leadership Development Program
The American Indian College Fund and the Allstate Foundation have worked together to create a cultural exchange program that will provide diversity and leadership training for American Indian students attending tribal colleges, in addition to a cultural awareness symposium hosted at Haskell Indian Nations University. The cultural exchange program will allow the Fund to create greater awareness about Native communities, foster greater race relations, and create leaders with a global perspective.
