FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation Grants the American Indian College Fund $10,000 for Scholarships Denver, CO—The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation has provided the American Indian College Fund with a $10,000 grant for scholarships for American Indian students. The amount will be disbursed equally to students belonging to seven Montana tribal colleges and will be awarded to students with a 2.5 or higher grade point average. The grant will support qualified American Indian students by providing financial resources to encourage them to complete a college degree. With an education, students can build a better life for themselves, their families, and make valuable contributions to their communities and nation. Richard B. Williams, President and CEO of the American Indian College Fund, said, "The generosity of The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation helps American Indian students in Montana achieve a higher education. Our graduates return to help their communities, creating jobs and making a difference in the lives of other American Indians, paying forward the generosity that has been bestowed on them." Mike Halligan, Executive Director of the Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation, said "Our primary goal through our scholarship investments is to open as many doors for young people as possible to allow them the opportunity to reach their full potential. The grant to the American Indian College Fund furthers that goal." About The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation |
